LAN Party @ Flatcon

Upstairs in the Hansen Student Center

This year well be growing our very successful LAN (Local Area Network) based computer games. Only multiplayer games are being considered for play. The games will be hosted and ran just like any other game at Flatcon, meaning the game name and time will be posted in the same manner that the non-computer games are. In between official gaming runs, a limited amount of time will allocated for personal use if anyone wishes to check email, surf the web, or anything of the like.

List of games...
Never Winter Nights
Starcraft
Quake 3
Dungeon Siege
Age of Empires
Counter Strike
FilthyMUD (http://www.filthymud.org)
*More games may be considered, some games may be removed.

The LAN Party is being hosted free of charge to registered Flatcon attendees, thanks to U.H.A.C.C. (Unix Hobbyist, Administrators and Coders Club), a non-for-profit local computer users group that focuses on alternative operating systems and Open Source software.

Representatives from U.H.A.C.C. will be on hand to answer questions about Open-Source software, focusing on the Linux Operating System.

Please read our acceptable usage policy below:

-          As these are our personal computers, we reserve the right to deny anyone usage.

-          Respect and listen to the Geek or Geeks in Charge.

-          Do not download anything, do not install anything, do not delete anything.

-          To reiterate the point above please dont break our machines!

-          No food or drink at the computers.

That out of the way, this should be a lot of fun! If time permits, we will also run an Install Fest, where we will allow people to install RedHat Linux themselves. Information about a possible Install Fest will be posted along with game times.

Questions, comments, suggestions, or to donate/loan any hardware/software, contact a member of the U.H.A.C.C. Executive Board at: exec_board@uhacc.org
