Gamers For Life Aims To Score a Crit On Cancer!

Gamers For Life Logo

What makes our con maybe a little different from some others is that all profit goes towards raising money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life through Gamers for Life.

Gamers for Life also sponsors a number of activities, including game demos, silent actions, a build-your-own-sword workshop and the ever imperative Prize Support Raffle. Gamers for Life raised over $1,800 dollars in one weekend in 2008. See the Gamers for Life Page for more info!

As gamers, we at FlatCon love that not only do we get to be Gonzo Gamer Geeks for a weekend, but we are also raising money for a damned good cause. Help us score a Crit on Cancer!

Midwest Garrison Logo

(July 22, 2010) Thanks to some, now dead, Bothan spies, FlatCon Intel just confirmed FlatCon 2010 will be visited by members of the Midwest Garrison of the 501st Legion! The Midwest Garrison is a chapter of The 501st Legion of Stormtroopers, a Star Wars Imperial costuming club. The 501st is dedicated to the movie-quality costumes of the "villains" of the Star Wars universe. The Midwest Garrison serves Illinois and Wisconsin.

In addition to providing a network for fans to meet, MWG is committed to the community. We offer support at charity events, fundraisers, and social functions by appearing as film-authentic Star Wars characters. While there is no cost to engage our services, we encourage donations to charity on their behalf instead. The Midwest Garrison will be helping FlatCon raise money for the American Cancer Society.
