A new exhibitor at this year's FlatCon was Turnham Games showing off their new game, EXPEDITE! From the www.turnhamegames.com website, Expedite is:
The fast paced game of world trade, Expedite is the next great route building board game. The game takes place on a world map and is a race to 100 points. Each turn requires a decision to be made. Many attendees played a demo of Expedite at FlatCon 2012 and several copies were purchsed (including one by your humble website geek) and it is a rocking fun game! Check it out!The game is always changing. Luck of the cards and timing of your decisions will make or break your game. Control the hubs and you control the game.
- Should you buy a new city?
- Should you buy a competitor's city to earn more points?
- Should you play a world trade card?
- What route should you take to connect the cities?
- To whom do you give points?
We had a blast at FlatCon 2012! Zombiecide, the annual Circus Maximus race, a slew of great Pathfider sceenarios, and just tons of great games made it a great con. Many thanks to all the vendors, players, and event organizers for making it such a great weekend! We're already excited for next year!
Check out photos from the con on the FlatCon group on Flickr and add your own!
Three Days of Dice-Rollin', Mini-Bashin', Nacho-Eatin', Friend-Fraggin', Gaming Fun! October 21-23, 2011 the dice will be rollin' and the nacho cheese will be flowin' at the Interstate Center Mini Expo buildingInterstate Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
What makes our con maybe a little different from some others is that all profit goes towards raising money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life through Gamers for Life.
Gamers for Life also sponsors a number of activities, including game demos, silent auctions, a build-your-own-sword workshop and the ever imperative Prize Support Raffle. Gamers for Life raised over $1,800 dollars in one weekend in 2008. See the Gamers for Life Page for more info!
As gamers, we at FlatCon love that not only do we get to be Gonzo Gamer Geeks for a weekend, but we are also raising money for a damned good cause. Help us score a Crit on Cancer!
We could not put on FlatCon without the support of our generous sponsors. Please, support them by visiting their sites/stores.
